I love the restaurant business. I love the pace, the tempo, and the ability to make people happy. That’s why I do this. A restaurant is a tiny micro-economy all its own and every day it presents new challenges but ultimately it’s about making people (our customers, our staff, our purveyors, our investors) happy. And balancing all those folks is the real trick. And I’m one that enjoys living in that moment.
There’s a lot safer ways to earn a living, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Because I love making people happy. When our customers walk into the Railhouse, I hope they find it warm and inviting and they feel welcome. Whether they plan on spending $10 or $100, it doesn’t matter. Because I know the person that today spends $10 with me may come back in a few months and ask us to cater a wedding or their company picnic.
So welcome to The Railhouse. We’ll fix you a great steak, or a juicy hamburger, serve it with French fries or a baked potato, and recommend a cold beer or an appropriate glass of red wine. ~ Jessica
